Flex is a RIA (Rich Internet Application) development kit that creates SWF applications that run in the FlashPlayer. It is our tool of choice when it comes to building high performance RIAs. In addition to having a rich set of widgets and a powerful language to glue these widgets together, it also has some advanced communication solutions (e.g., Real-time data push with Binary Sockets using any TCP/IP Socket server) making it a really powerful development tool.
